BD UHD Encoding

Hi,

Is this software able to encode for UHD BD authoring? I'm not able to find a template in the demo version.

Hello lilian,

There is no preset for Blu-ray UHD encoding right now. However, we have a custom MPS preset that allows you to create BD UHD compliant streams in SDR (BT.709 colorimetry). I have uploaded the BD UHD HEVC MPS Preset File here. It can be imported into the current version of TotalCode Studio (Tools > Preset Manager > Import). The link is valid until 2022-01-16 and can be used 100 times.

Thanks a lot! I'll try it with the demo. Hope it will be accepted by authoring tool.
Any chance to have such a preset for HDR content?

Hello Lilian,

Sorry for the late reply on this.

There is no ready-to-use preset because the HDR settings are also depend on the input file. However, you can import the regular MPS preset file into TotalCode Studio (Tools > Preset Manager > Import), I have posted in an earlier thread, then select it under "Preset > My Presets" and modify the Colorimetry settings and HDR-10 metadata manually in the TotalCode Studio UI.

When using this preset - Scenarist MUI Generator accepts it, but when importing the .ves file(that the MUI generator generates) I get an error: Value of Video_full_range is not supported in the BD standard.

Just waiting for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support! Do you expect to include it in this tool?

Unfortunately, right now it is not planned to support any dynamic HDR format.
