How to deactivate?

Hello,

i want to do a clean install of the latest windows version via usb stick tool from ms:

1) How can i deactivate TCS and all plugins for a new clean install?

2) When i switch hardware like nvme drives/or motherboard can i use the same way as for 1) or does i have to going another way?


I searched the TCS manual v5.2 but did not find any information about this.

Hello Seibzehn,

In order to re-install TotalCode Studio you need first deactivate all the licenses you have associated with the product. This is possible though the WIBU activation link, which you have received when activating the product. There you will find the “Re-Host Licenses” button, which you need to use for all the licenses you have.

TotalCode Studio has three different license types for:
- Base Pack
- Broadcast Pack
- Audio Pack

You should deactivate all the licenses, but make sure to deactivate Broadcast Pack and Audio Pack, if you have them licensed before the Base Pack.
Once you have done this you can simply perform the regular installation and activation of the product.

To deactivate your license, please follow the few steps below.



1. Open your web browser, and go to your Ticket ID URL.

  When you purchase TotalCode Studio you are given a license ticket ID. The Ticket ID looks like below:

    http://lc.codemeter.com/41712/depot/get....XXXX-XXXXX

  Open your web browser e.x. Chrome, FireFox or Microsoft Edge, and type in or copy & paste your Ticket ID to the address bar to open the CodeMeter License Central page.



2. Re-hosting your license in CodeMeter License Central.

On the top menu in CodeMeter License Central, click on "My License" In My License section you see an overview of your licensed product as well as the status of the each item which is shown either Available or Activated.

   

Click "Re-Host License" button to proceed with deactivating your activated license. Depending on the license status, you have a chance to select which license container you desire to re-host your license from. As you choose the target container, you will be navigated to Re-Hostable Licenses page where you have a chance to select which of your activated license you want to re-host.



Please mark check box of the listed licenses you want to re-host, and then click on the button labeled "Deactivate Selected License Button Now". The deactivation process may take time, please stay on the page until the process finishes.

   

As soon as deactivation is completed, your license is re-hosted to the CodeMeter license management system for the next activation. Good luck with your re-installation.

Deactivation worked and was easier than expected.
Important was to deactivate the plugins first, otherwise you will get an error message.
