New Features and Major Improvements in MainConcept Live Encoder V3.4
Known Issues in MainConcept Live Encoder V3.4
- VVC/H.266 encoding support.
- Enhanced LCEVC encoding support with AVC, HEVC and VVC base layers.
- New presets compatible with next generation Brazilian Fórum SBTVD TV 2.5 and TV 3.0 draft standards.
- Improved audio pre-processing workflow.
- Users can now specify the number of reference frames for AVC/H.264.
- Update to Fraunhofer’s latest MPEG-H software encoder.
- Users can specify a name for HLS output segments that contains a date/time using a placeholder.
- To provide an improved overview, the default preset groups are now displayed in a collapsed state.
- The logic for scanning ingest sources has been improved: users can now re-scan the existing sources.
Known Issues in MainConcept Live Encoder V3.4
- [NDE-151] Start/stop encoding causes the encoder to behave unpredictably when no disk space is available and, as a result, may not produce any output signal.
- [NDE-153] If you configured two encodings (AVC & HEVC) you currently cannot remove the AVC/H.264 again if there is no related output connected to it.
- [NDE-261/NDE-280] When using a 2 second segment size for HLS creation with either AVC/H.264 or HEVC/H.265 hardware or software encoding, the peak bitrate sometimes exceeds the bandwidth specified in the HLS master playlist by more than 20%. There is no problem when using 4 or 6 second segment sizes.
- [NDE-409] Occasional frame drops when doing HEVC 8K 60p 10-bit liveencoding on Linux.
- [NDE-462] It is currently not possible to insert logos with a bit depth of 8-bit or less.
- [B-83199] Closed Captions information is not written into MPEG-DASH manifest files. This can be corrected by a separate packaging tool.
- [NDE-524] There is a memory leak after stopping streaming of LCEVC streams on Linux. This memory is reused if streaming is restarted.
- [NDE-525]: The web interface occasionally reports an error about losing the connection to the encoding engine when stopping an LCEVC output on Linux.
