I have some problems with the MainConcept Codec Plugin for DaVinci Resolve but I don’t know the reason. Is there a log file somewhere that I can check?
Yes, you can easily create a log file for the Codec Plugin in a few easy steps:

1. Create an *.ini file in the user’s folder with the name “mc_resolve.ini”. 
   
2. Within the *.ini file, set the path for the log using the two lines below, e.g.
   [debug]
   logfile=c:/users/[user-name]/desktop/mc_codec_plugin_debug.log
   
3. Close the “mc_resolve.ini” and start DaVinci Resolve Studio. 
   

If you are using the MainConcept Codec Plugin in DaVinci Resolve Studio now, the corresponding information are written into the “mc_codec_plugin_debug.log”  file on your desktop. This works for Windows, macOS and Linux.

I selected the MainConcept HEVC/AAC/MP4 preset but the audio tab shows PCM. Do I need to change it manually? 
The plugin interface for DaVinci Resolve Studio is accessed via the video tab. The preset selected in the video tab automatically configures the correct audio and container parameters. You do not need to change any settings in the Audio and File tab except the checkbox to turn on/off audio completely if needed. Changing other audio settings can result in corrupt or incompatible files that do not match the presets.

Is there anything I need to do before using the MainConcept Codec Plugin for DaVinci Resolve Studio, for instance, when setting up a new project in DaVinci Resolve?

Why, when rendering a Panasonic P2 preset, is there an error message and the export stops?
The Panasonic P2 presets require a special filename structure for a successful render. Valid P2 filenames consist six characters of which the first four are numbers (0 - 9) and the last two either numbers (0 - 9) or letters (A - Z), e.g. 1234AB or 123409.

I want to change the frame rate before rendering my project. However, if I look at the “Frame rate” settings in the “Render Settings” dialog, the number of values is very limited and I can’t find the frame rate I need. What can I do? 

The framerate is controlled by the DaVinci Resolve Studio Project Settings. So you need to decide about the framerate of your render format before your start a project.  

To change the framerate in DaVinci Resolve Studio go to File > Project Settings. Use the Timeline frame rate drop-down to set the desired value that is also used for rendering your project later. However, please keep in mind that by specification a preset might not support every framerate. 

I selected one of the MainConcept MXF (AS-11) presets but rendering fails with an error, why? 
Specifying a valid metadata file is required for AS-11 UK DPP presets for a successful render.
