Why do I have to download the latest version each time as a trail, when I have already bought the perpetual version? It is absurd to do this and I have never seen this before in any software. I download, apply for the trail version and then have to unsubscribe to the marketing nonsense. I realise there is no or limited support with the perpetual purchase version but I understood there was at least a year's free updates. It's just seems you're not used to vending software properly in this way.

Apologies for the late reply on your comment.

Unfortunately, you always need to download and install the trial version to get the latest version. That is simply how our update mechanism works for all our products. With the activation link, you have used once for activating the software, you turn the trial into the full version. But if you have already activated the software before, there is no need to activate it again with each update.

However, in the future there will also be add-ons that are not free for the perpetual license, but free for the subscription one.

The latest version of the Codec plugin for DaVinci Resolve Studio is 1.5.1 at the moment.

The activation process remains the same as described by my colleague Frank Schoenberger in the previous post. Please, fill in the web form on our website by this link "Try Free", the latest demo version will be sent to your email address, download and install it, then use your activation link to turn the product into a full mode. Skip the last step if you activated the previous version, the new one will be activated automatically.
